An Oxford love story: From a College disco to a 50th wedding anniversary

Having met at a disco in Brasenose Cellars in 1971, Paul and Phyl Carvosso were married in Pembroke Chapel on a snowy April day in 1975. We were delighted to have them back exactly 50 years later this April to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary!

Alumnus Alex Joynes Wins People’s Play Award

Pembroke alumnus Alex Joynes (2012, Theology) was recently named the winner of the People’s Play Award for his first full-length play Sides, staged at the People’s Theatre in Newcastle in May.

The first of our 2025 Open Days in July saw hundreds of prospective applicants and their supporters welcomed to Pembroke for tours with students, informal meetings with tutors, and to explore all that Pembroke has to offer.

PCBC Unveils New Women’s Boat

15 November 2024

Earlier this term, Pembroke College Boat Club christened their new Women’s Boat, naming it after Pembroke alumna and Paralympic gold medallist Erin Kennedy. Members of PCBC, new and old, joined together at the Boat House for drinks and later celebrated the new boat over Formal Dinner in Hall, blazers and all!

Having recently graduated from Wadham, Oxford with a Distinction in the Bachelor of Civil Law, Dane Luo is Pembroke’s new Farthing Scholar! The Farthing Scholarship is funded by the University and Peter Farthing, a Pembroke alumnus who read Law and later returned to College as an Advisory Fellow and full member of Governing Body.
